Krav Maga

Krav Maga (“contact combat”) is the Israel Defense Force’s self-defense and close-quarters combat system. Israeli military, law enforcement, and security institutions needed a training regimen focusing on utility, instinct, simplicity, and adaptability. Imi Lichtenfield’s Krav Maga utilizes natural instincts and reflexes along with awareness and mental conditioning to insure survival in any situation.

Krav Maga’s philosophy is never do more than is necessary but react with speed, economy of motion, and the appropriate measure of force to neutralize the threat. This may include strikes to the groin, throat, or kidneys; a finger to the eye; shouting into the attacker’s ear; head butts; breaking the attacker’s elbow; severing the Achilles tendon with an ankle lock; and/or choking the assailant into unconsciousness. Speed is paramount.

The Israeli Krav Maga system of defense is one of the most effective, practical, and holistic systems in the world. It was designed by Lichtenfield to benefit people of all shapes, sizes, abilities, and ages. Remember: You may be your first, last, and ONLY line of defense in an increasingly violent world.
